Papyrus Painting - King Tut  Rising over the Pyramids (Silver) on Dark Papyrus

Egyptian Papyrus Painting: King Tut Rising over the Pyramids (Silver)

According to Egyptian legend a curse was inscribed on the outside of the king's tomb: Death shall come on swift wings to him that disturbs the peace of the king.

Howard Carter entered the king's burial chamber on February 17, 1923. On  about March 6, Lord Carnarvon was bitten by a mosquito on his cheek and became ill, and died April 5th. In the next few years, 20 other individuals who were involved in the uncovering of the tomb died mysterious deaths.

All papyrus paintings are sent with "rough" edges, easily trimmed to fit your framing needs.  Dark papyrus is aged by soaking it in water and letting the sugars age the papyrus, it breaks down the fibers and gives a very old authentic feel.  You may notice that there are some pin holes on the canvas, this is part of the aging process.

*****NOTICE****
Changes implemented by the Ministry of Antiquities requires all papyrus to be inspected by an expert - what this means is that while your order will show as shipped, it may in fact be on hold at the Cairo airport pending inspection. For this reason we are not able to combine papyrus orders with anything else, i.e. papyrus and jewelry, or glassworks etc. If you are ordering something else in addition to the papyrus you must order it separately. We apologize for any delays that may occur, ultimately it is about the preservation of the history of Egypt.
