![]() Papyrus Painting - The Broken Nefertiti on Dark Papyrus![]() Nefertiti first appears on the scene when she becomes the Great Royal Wife of Akhenaten.Scholars still debate her origins, some believing that she was a princess from another land. She gave birth to six daughters. It is possible that she also had sons, although no record has been found of this.Nefertiti is displayed with a prominence that other Egyptian queens were not. This statue of Nefertiti was found broken into nearly two hundred fragments by the expedition of Ludwig Borchardt in 1912. It had been carved from a single block of grano-diorite but left with its surface unfinished. The location of the find was the house of the sculptor Tuthmose, creator of the famous bust of Nefertiti. Borchardt took the head back to Germany, where it now forms part of the Berlin Museums. The other pieces he left behind at Amarna. They were rediscovered by the present expedition, buried beside the expedition house. For this reason we are not able to combine papyrus orders with anything else, i.e. papyrus and jewelry, or glassworks etc. If you are ordering something else in addition to the papyrus you must order it separately. We apologize for any delays that may occur, ultimately it is about the preservation of the history of Egypt.
