Papyrus Painting - Hues of Purple Nefertiti and Mask of King Tut Rising over the Pyramids on Dark Papyrus
King Tutankhamum...the youngest ruler of Egypt. The 12th king of the 18th Dynasty was only eight or nine years old at his succession. He has a very complicated family tree. Nefertiti, whose name means "a beautiful woman has come," was the queen of Egypt during the 14th century B.C. The wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten. She is widely referred to as King Tut's mother, although the facts point to Queen Kia as being the true mother, making Nerfertiti his step-mother. There is no dispute that Akhenaten was indeed Tut's father. But that's not all. Further complicating the family tree was the royal custom of intermarriages: Tut married the daughter of Nefertiti and Akhenaten, which makes Nefertiti not only Tut's step mother, but also his mother-in-law. King Tut's mask is on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and weighs 11 kilos. It is made of gold, and inlaid with blue lapis.Click here to see other versions of this piece in Gold - Bronze - Silver All papyrus paintings are sent with "rough" edges, easily trimmed to fit your framing needs.
