The winged disk emblem is found in many ancient cultures around the world. The winged sun disk is one of the oldest religious symbols on earth. It is also known as  Behedti, with the wings of Horus, and represents the omnipotence of the sun God Re, and the divinity of the Pharaoh.  The goddess energy is seen on the sides of the disc: Uraeus  - it is the serpent emblem found in Egyptian portrayals of Royalty and Deity. It is a symbol of divine authority, representing the Goddess Wedjat as the all seeing eye of Ra, who was believed to protect the Pharaohs by spitting fire, and the emblem of the Lower Kingdom of Egypt.

Dark papyrus is aged by soaking it in water and letting the sugars age the papyrus, it breaks down the fibers and gives a very old authentic feel.  You may notice that there are some pin holes on the canvas, this is part of the aging process.
