Save up to $13 on a 1.5 mm thick sterling silver twist chain, approx. 18" - 20" (45 - 50cm). This chain retails for $30 to $35 depending on the length. Offer valid only with the purchase of a silver cartouche. If one side is 4 symbols and the other side is 7 symbols the larger size must be ordered.

All of our jewelry bears a hallmark stamp of the government, attesting to the fact that it is 18k gold, 900 silver, or 925 (Sterling Silver). It is not a dent, or a flaw, it is the stamp, this is your protection. The artists reserve the right to choose the hieroglyphic symbols and arrangement (Some letters such as "a" "h" and "m" have two symbols). If you have particular symbols please advise us in the "Special Instructions" box on the order form. Specifications of dimensions are approximate and are inclusive of the bail. Size will vary according to symbols. Some names will have symbols that are more vertical in nature than horizontal. This will dictate the final length and width of the cartouche. In keeping with industry standards, all sales are considered final on personalized items see our policies. The bail will fit a standard chain, 5 to 6 mm. If you need a larger bail please contact us before ordering.

What is a Cartouche? Cartouche (pronounced "kar-toosh") is actually a French word meaning 'gun cartridge'. When Napoleon's soldiers were in Egypt, they called the oval shaped etchings surrounding the king names "cartouche" because it reminded them of the shape of their bullets. Cartouches have a long lasting legend that dates back more than 5000 years. Originally designed for the Pharaohs to be an amulet of protection. Each cartouche had the name of the person wearing it written in Egyptian Hieroglyphics. Your personalized cartouche jewelry will be hand made in our Cairo workshop. Custom orders welcomed.
